Beacons vs Stan Store: Which Creator Platform Fits You?
Choose Beacons if you want to publish a customizable link-in-bio page without a monthly subscription, then add a media kit, email capture, affiliate links, or a lightweight store as you grow. Choose Stan Store if selling digital products, courses, coaching, memberships, or appointments is already the main job and you are comfortable starting with a paid subscription. Beacons is the stronger low-cost profile-and-marketing starting point; Stan is the more commerce-centered starting point. Neither wins every use case.
Disclosure: this article is published by Liink, a competing link-in-bio product, and is not independent. Liink is not affiliated with Beacons or Stan. We did not accept payment, affiliate commission, or editorial approval from either company. Pricing and help pages were checked August 26, 2026; plans, fees, limits, trials, and regional availability can change, so verify the live checkout and documentation before moving a revenue-producing page.
Beacons vs Stan Store at a glance
This table deliberately compares decision checkpoints instead of counting features. A checkmark can hide an important plan limit, and the two products group capabilities differently. Before choosing, build the smallest real version of your workflow, calculate one representative month of costs, and test the public page and checkout on a phone.
The core difference: creator hub versus creator storefront
Beacons starts with a public creator hub
Beacons combines a customizable link-in-bio page with a media kit, email marketing, affiliate tools, a digital store, analytics, and other creator-business modules. Its free plan makes the public profile useful before the creator has predictable sales. That is important for a musician, freelancer, influencer, or small brand that first needs one credible place for content, contact, partnerships, and audience capture.
The broader workspace is also the tradeoff. If you use only the link page, many suite features may remain unused. If you do use the store, email sends, media kit, custom domain, and automations, the plan comparison needs to cover the whole stack rather than treating Beacons as a simple list of links.
Stan starts with selling and fulfillment
Stan Store positions the page as a storefront connected to digital products, courses, coaching or calendar bookings, recurring subscriptions, lead magnets, communities, customer records, and product analytics. Its Creator plan is therefore easier to justify when a defined offer already exists and the visitor should move from a social profile to checkout, booking, enrollment, or email capture.
Stan does not currently offer a permanent free store plan. Its help center lists Creator at $29 per month or $300 per year and Creator Pro at $99 per month or $948 per year. A trial may let you evaluate the product, but a trial is not the same as a permanently published free profile. Budget for the ongoing subscription before directing every social profile to it.
Pricing and transaction fees: model the whole month
Beacons currently lists Free at $0, Creator at $10 monthly or $100 annually, Creator Plus at $30 monthly or $300 annually, and Creator Max at $90 monthly or $900 annually. Beacons documents a 9% platform seller fee on Free and Creator, then 0% on Creator Plus and Creator Max. Stripe or PayPal processing is separate from that platform fee.
Stan documents a 0% Stan transaction fee on both Creator and Creator Pro. It charges the subscription instead, while Stripe or PayPal processing still applies and can vary by country, currency, payment method, international card, payout, or refund. “Zero transaction fees” therefore means zero platform percentage for Stan, not zero total payment cost.
For a simple illustration, 9% of $300 in monthly gross sales is $27 before processing, close to Stan Creator's $29 monthly subscription. That is not a universal break-even point: Beacons and Stan include different tools, annual billing changes the comparison, refunds matter, and higher tiers may be required for a particular feature. Use your expected sales, order size, processor, refund rate, email volume, and required tier.
Products, courses, coaching, and memberships
Beacons Free advertises unlimited digital products, while its paid tiers change seller economics and add capabilities. The current pricing page places 0% seller fees, buy-now-pay-later options, unlimited courses with video hosting, memberships, and unlimited email sends in Creator Plus. Confirm product type, storage, delivery, tax handling, checkout fields, refunds, and customer export for the offer you intend to sell.
Stan Creator includes a mobile-friendly storefront, calendar and booking tools, store and product analytics, an unlimited online course builder, recurring subscriptions, lead magnets, community features, and Instagram AutoDM according to its plan guide. Creator Pro adds dynamic pricing and payment plans, discount codes, limited-quantity offers, upsells, order bumps, funnels, affiliate management, email marketing, imported contacts, and advertising pixels.
The best commerce platform is not the one with the longest list. Test a complete purchase: product page, mobile checkout, confirmation, file or course access, calendar timezone, email receipt, cancellation, refund, customer support, and data export. If any critical step needs an external workaround, include that friction in the decision.
Email, analytics, domains, and brand work
Beacons Free currently includes 50 email sends per month and real-time analytics. Creator lists 500 email sends and a custom domain, while Creator Plus lists unlimited email sends and additional selling capabilities. Beacons also connects the profile to a daily-updating media kit, which can matter for brand partnerships even when no digital product is sold.
Stan Creator emphasizes lead-magnet collection, store and product analytics, and offer delivery. Creator Pro adds email broadcasts and flows, contact importing, advanced analytics, funnels, and pixel tracking for major advertising platforms. That can be a coherent system for a paid offer, but confirm consent records, unsubscribe behavior, attribution definitions, export fields, and retention before consolidating customer data.
Do not choose a platform only because it can send email or display analytics. Define the questions you need answered: which social post produced a qualified visit, which page element was clicked, which lead consented, which buyer completed payment, which email led to a repeat purchase, and whether you can export the underlying contacts and orders.
Which platform fits common creator situations?
A safe evaluation and migration checklist
Where Liink fits—and where it does not
Liink is a narrower visual-profile builder for arranging text, sections, images, destination cards, social links, files, and supported audio or video embeds. It can fit a creator who already has checkout, email, booking, and analytics elsewhere and wants one visual public destination rather than another all-in-one business suite.
Liink does not replace Beacons' store, media kit, native email marketing, affiliate tools, or broader creator-business workspace. It also does not replace Stan's checkout, courses, booking, memberships, funnels, email automation, or affiliate management. There is no automatic Beacons or Stan importer; rebuild only with content and customer data you are entitled to use.
Frequently asked questions
Is Beacons or Stan Store better for a free link in bio?
Beacons is the practical choice if permanent free publishing is required. Beacons documents a $0 free plan with a customizable link-in-bio page, while Stan states that it does not currently offer a free plan. Stan may offer a trial, but the live store requires a paid subscription after the trial ends.
Does Beacons or Stan Store charge transaction fees?
Beacons currently charges a 9% platform seller fee on Free and Creator and 0% on Creator Plus and Creator Max. Stan documents a 0% Stan transaction fee on Creator and Creator Pro. Both still involve payment-processor fees, and other payment, payout, international, currency, refund, or tax costs may apply.
Which is better for courses and coaching?
Stan Creator is the more direct first test when courses, booking, subscriptions, or community are the core offer because those workflows are listed in its base paid plan. Beacons can also support courses and appointments, but the exact limits and required tier differ. Test delivery, calendars, recurring billing, student access, video hosting, and support before deciding.
Can Beacons or Stan Store replace a full ecommerce platform?
They can cover many creator-commerce workflows, especially digital products, courses, services, and memberships. They may not match a full retail platform for complex inventory, shipping, tax, multi-location operations, marketplace integrations, or custom storefront logic. List those requirements and run a complete order before replacing an established store.
